Conference program

On November 23-24, 2021, the Center for Civilizational and Regional Studies of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences hold an online conference on the topic «THE IDEA OF POSTCOLONIALITY IN MODERN CIVILIZATIONAL CONCEPTS».

The relevance, scientific and practical significance of the conference topic was determined by the rapid development from the end of the twentieth century. the ideological course of postcoloniality (in a more advanced version - decoloniality), understood as a revision and reassessment of colonial history and its legacy from the standpoint of former conquered peoples, and, more broadly, as the decolonization of social and humanitarian knowledge.

The purpose of the conference was to analyze and discuss the place and role of the idea of ​​postcoloniality / decoloniality in modern civilizational concepts.
