On March 26 at 12:00, the Centre for African Strategy in BRICS will hold a regular research seminar at the Institute of African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The event will examine the potential for interaction between BRICS and the African Union, including strategic similarities, possible areas of cooperation, as well as factors that could hinder their rapprochement.

The event will be held in a face-to-face format in English. Two papers will be presented as part of the seminar:

1. Daria Aleksandrovna Zelenova и Tamara Alekseevna Andreeva (Institute for African Studies) -- “The African Union’s Representative Power for the Future of BRICS Expansion”

2. Клэр Аюма Amuhaya (РУДН) – “Africa Union partnership with external actors”

Keith Gottschalk (University of the Western Cape) will be the discussant.
