Participation of Irina Abramova, Director of IAS RAS, in the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”.
On May 16, 2025, Irina Olegovna Abramova, Director of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor, took part in the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”, the key theme of which was “Digitalization: new reality and additional opportunities for expanding cooperation”.

The Director of IAS RAS as a member of the delegation of the Union of Women of Russia spoke at the session “The Role of the Family Institution in Shaping the Future Economy”. In her report “Traditional values - the basis for the development of Russian-African relations in the era of transformation of the world order” Irina Olegovna emphasized the importance of common guidelines and social traditions underlying the sustainable partnership between Russia and African countries.
The session resulted in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Women's Union, which opened new opportunities for joint humanitarian and research initiatives.
