This collective monograph is devoted to summarizing the mixed results of the implementation of the first ten-year plan of Agenda 2063, a key document for the long-term planning of the African Union. Many of the goals set out in it, primarily in the field of socio-economic development, were not achieved, while a number of others, such as the creation of the African Continental Free Trade Area or the reform of the African Union, were quite successfully implemented.
It also examines the relations of African countries with leading extra-regional actors, which continue to have a huge impact on the pace and nature of their development. Of particular importance is the strengthening of relations with Russia and other BRICS countries, which contribute to the emergence of Africa as one of the poles of the emerging multipolar world order.
