April 6, 2026 Participation of IAS RAS staff in the scientific conference “Sub-Saharan Africa: Global Transformations and New Development Trajectories”.
On April 6, 2026, the scientific conference "Sub-Saharan Africa: Global Transformations and New Development Trajectories" was held at the Russian State University for the Humanities. The event was attended by employees of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In the section "Global challenges and socio-economic development", a report by Anton I. Kupalov-Yaropolk, junior researsher of the Center for Russian-African Relations and African Foreign Policies, "Peculiarities of the development of Russian-South African trade and economic relations in the field of telecommunications" was presented.
In the section "Conflicts, security and the participation of external actors", a report by Alice G. Chadenkova, junior researsher of the Center for History and Cultural Anthropology, "The impact of the conflict in Mali on the security of West African countries" was presented.
The conference participants included teachers and students of higher educational institutions in Russia, as well as employees of leading scientific organizations.
