Participation of the Leading Research Fellow, Doctor of History, Vladimir Shubin in the filming of a documentary film about the life of the Russian diaspora in South Africa

The authors of the film talk about their project like this: “The new world is the reality in which we have been living for the past few years, and it is also an educational project about the friendship of people. How the Russian diaspora lives in South Africa, why the main memorial of the country is dedicated to the Soviet military, why T-shirts with the inscription "Moscow" became popular among local youth, and how the only Orthodox church in South Africa was built - you will learn about all this from the first issue of "New World". From China and India to Belarus, Brazil, Serbia, and the Republic of South Africa - the people of our countries are closely connected with Russia through a wide range of joint initiatives and projects.

The New World project team set out on a journey to show viewers the value of these unique connections and mutual enrichment. The first series is devoted to the friendship between Russia and the Republic of South Africa. The speakers in the film were: co-owner of the safari park, archpriest of the only Orthodox church in South Africa Daniil Lugovoy, press attache of the Russian Embassy in South Africa, Honorary Consul of South Africa in St. Petersburg - the main port of trade between South Africa and Russia and others.
