June 8, 2023 Evgeniya Morozenskaya took part in the V Anniversary International Moscow Academic Economic Forum "World Economic Development Trends: the Role and Place of Russia"

Head of the Centre for Transition Economy Studies of the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. in Economics Evgenia Morozenskaya made a presentation at the plenary conference "Russia's Political and Economic Pivot to the Global South" (June 8, 2023, INION RAS) as part of the 5th Anniversary International Moscow Academic Economic Forum "World Economic Development Trends: Russia's Role and Place" (MAEF –2023, Moscow, June 7–8, 2023)

The report of Evgeniya Morozenskaya "On the interaction of various forms of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and African countries" described the directions of Russian-African trade, production, investment, and financial cooperation. The assessment of the possibilities of its practical expansion is quite high in the extractive industry, nuclear energy, technology, education, and several other areas. Promising in this respect is, as noted by Evgeniya Morozenskaya, the development of economic cooperation between Russia, as well as the Eurasian Economic Union with trade and economic associations of African countries, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFT). The most important guarantees of such a partnership are the expansion of state support for the supply of industrial equipment and new technologies from the Russian Federation to Africa; attraction and preparation of Russian entrepreneurs for activities in the countries of the continent (in manufacturing, services, etc.); organization of appropriate channels of interstate financing and international payments.

At the plenary conference "Russia's Political and Economic Pivot to the Global South" (moderator - Director of INION RAS, Member of the Board of the VEO of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics A.V. Kuznetsov), presentations were made by leading scientists from the institutes of the Russian Academy Sciences (INION, IWEIR, Institute of Oriental Studies, Institute for Latin America Studies, Institute for African Studies), Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, HSE University, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), dedicated to certain important areas and prospects for economic cooperation between Russia and various countries and regions of the global South.
